engine running too cold

The title says it all..I have installed a new engine, removed the AC condenser and pump. The engine is runnig too cold and not throwing enough heat from the heater core,Could freeing up the air flow to the radiator "ie" removing AC condenser cause the engine to run so cool? Is the temp sensor prone to failure or incorrect readings? What effect would get from running the wrong mix of antifreeze and water?

did u check ur thermostat? may be stuck open. WHats the engine temp running at on ur guage? u also may have a clogged heater core which is the most likely problem. What about your logicon unit? are you able to get to switch it to cold air? removing the ac unit has no direct effect on the heating system and therefore u should still be blowing hot air. Incorrect antifreeze mixtures is very unliklly too because its does eventually heat up to normal tempurature.

judging by ur user name im guess in u have an 86 rx7. S4 temp guages (when running right ) should read at about 1/4 about cold at normal operating tempurature.

Man, I have everything removed, and a huge radiator (K2RD), and I dont have any problems with getting the motor up to operating temp. Is your thermostat working correctly? Water level correct?

Yes the car is a 86 fc3 n/a I know where the temp use to sit on my old engine abought 1/4 way past C.The hot cold selector switch crapped out on the logicon unit.So I have the valve on the heater core set up so I can open and close it by hand.Right now it's fully open and hardly any heat? My thermostat is a brand new beck and arnely fail safe thermostat from autostoner...I know I know I should be running a mazda thermostat. But where I live your lucky if you can get brake pads let alone a spark plug.Everybody builds big *** V8 hick trucks..not wimpy little1.8's.
