but yeah a 13b with all the excess **** taken off can be lifted (awkardly but somewhat easily by myself) i lift weights quite a bit and lift using good form.
but the engine itself weighs about 150 lbs there about. not exactly sure but yeah i can pick up the engine quite easily with my dad.
so good luck.
hahah "to do some rebuild stuff." that's some funny ****

i seached. I found the forum on the writup of pulling the engine so i jus wanto know if i can lift it out. If its only 150 Lbs I will have no problem. I can curl 130 easily. Some rebuild **** I will be doing is changing the Apex seals and possible a rotor ( I dont know yet, I have to PULL THE ENGINE)

but if your'e going to lift it out of the engine bay i'd suggest using a cherry picker or a chain and hoist lift or something along those lines.
and being able to curl 130 doesn't mean you can just pop the engine right out of the bay, there is a little more to it than that.

you gotta think about your positioning and how your gonna life the engine out... its a big piece of metal.... you gonna stand in the engine bay and lift it out? drop it from under the car? try and lift it from outside the engine bay in a akward position? just some things you have to factor in... gotta get the engine out without just dropping it, then putting it back in without dropping it, etc... thats why a engine crane or something to hoist it up is more ideal

Yeah but the thing about getting the engine off the transmission is you must pull up and to the front of the engine bay. so you need to lift the transmission a wee bit too. not a ton of weight but something to take into consideration.
and Etrips, it doesn't matter what we say. he's 16 and HE'S RIGHT. (and he can curl 130)
or at least that's my perception of things

130 is not enough. Even if you strip it to short block, you'll still have the flywheel and clutch. It adds a bit but I'd say you'd need to lift 200lbs to be able to handle it.

I cleaned up this thread. If it happens again, offenders are gone.
And yes, you'll want to use a hoist. It's not so much the weight, it's the lack of access and the akwardness of the operation.
