Engine mounts
Do these wear at all? The ones from my old engine are physically just fine, but does the rubber wear and lose it's 'bounce'? I don't mind replacing them if I should, but I don't want to waste $80 either.

Over time, they dry out and bake. If the rubber has deep cracks, try prying up on the engine with a bar. You will likely find that they are beginning to seperate at the bottom. FWIW, most FCs I see have a broken passenger mount.

The old ones are out of the car right now - along with the engine. They show no signs at all of cracking or wear. Odd perhaps, but true! Like I said, I'm just wondering if they lose their 'bounce' and if new ones would lead to much of a difference in 'smoothness' inside the car. If not, then no need to replace.

I'm going to be replacing my engine/tranny mounts with the banzai racing polyurethane mounts. When replacing the stock rubber with poly mounts, the poly mounts won't degrade so they'll last longer. 8)
