Engine or exhaust problem - I need some imfo

Ive got an 87 TII with an engine with about 3,000 miles on it, a hollowed out cat and a borla exhaust. Last night while driving i downshifted, went around a corner and when i went back on the throttle it had no power. It idles roughly at 1000 but up until 3 grand i cant get anything out of it. I removed the emissions but the hose is still attached to the exhaust. The pipe that the emissions is connected to was glowing last night. A nice bright orange. Im hoping something is clogged (possibly a bad hollow job on the cat?) and that i can just clean out the exhaust pipes. If anyone has anything to add please let me know.

was it all the sudden u didnt have power or it was that way after your cat job?

im not a expert on exhaust tuning on 7s but on every other car the shorter more free flowing it is youll boost power higher in the rpm range and lose more grunt on the low end...major leaks will cause the same problem above but it will also hurt top end but not as much as it will hurt your low end power. just somthing to think about

is it still doing it?..... the "pipe" your talkn about, is it the one attached to the side of the main cat?.... i dont know how cats many are on a tii. i own a n/a and i have 3 cat "2 small precats and one main cat" stock. did u gut all the cats?

no power coming out of turn it sounds like you where going a lil hot into a turn and the fuel pump sucked some air and the engine stumbled.

I removed the exhaust and it still has the problem. It did help a little in the low rpm's but as i said its not affecting it at high revs.

ok heres some new info.

we checked the plugs from the front and rear, the rears were fine but the front ones were black. we cleaned them and reinstalled them. adjusted the idle so its at exactly 1k.

the thing now is that if you stomp the gas it tries to stall out but doesnt. if we press the gas slowly it revs like it should, smooth thru the rpm range. \

what should our next move be???
