Engine Check Light question

Hey guys. My days been interesting. started out with my car not starting no power. So i got a jump and everything was all good. Drove it home then pulled the battery and cleaned the terminals and replaced the connectors. That solved the power problem. Then on my way home from the auto parts store, the heater hose popped Replaced that and replaced coolant to full, but in the process, my oil pressure gauge isn't registering any oil pressure and the check engine light came on. My question is, Is there anything in that process that might have cause the check engine to trigger? Or is it that the oil pressure gauge not working causing the check engine light.

I checked the oil, and drove, and checked again and it seems to be fine. No overheating or loss of power or anything. Thanks guys, any help is appreciated.

Did some searching in the mean time...fixed the oil pressure sensor! (Thank you icemark!)

Check engine light still on...now its telling me to add coolant.

Also noticed something else while i was under the hood, Right under the oil filter there is a y shaped thing that has two connections at the top of it. the one on the left is hooked up but theres nothing hooked onto the left one which doesn't seem right. Thanks again for any input guys...

When your heater hose popped off and you fixed/ refilled your coolant you prob have air bubbles still in your system which is making your "add coolant" light come on.

The y shaped thing is actually behind the oil filter. Sorry i can be a dunce sometimes. Checked the CEL and it was code 11, which is intake air thermosensor (engine).

It says that it fixes the engine air at 68 degrees....is this going to damage my car if i drive it?

if you look at the 3rd page, look at the thing labeled "3", it's the air thermosensor. is that the Y thing you're talking about? if it isn't, make sure it's hooked up.

Checked the sensor...and wouldn't you know it...it was disconnected

connected the sensor and everything is fine. no CEL.

Thanks so much eage!

Think i could get some help with the stock stereo wiring?

I checked a site that said mazda used green and purple wiring for the rear speakers...but i see no green or purple...or white or gray for that matter. its just brown blue then the yellow red and black wires for power and such. is my wiring shot? or is the site wrong...

no problem, that's what the forum is here for.

check the factory service manual. I don't know the colors off the top of my head.

Actually, I don't think the S5 wiring diagrams are included in the S5 FSM. Here they are.

However, I'd still look at eage8's link above in the BODY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM section.
