Sorry, but the aircraft I work on are still in production and if you read the Air Force job guides on them or the factory instructions........we use vaseline. Called VVL something or other, but...it's vaseline (petroleum jelly for all practical purposes),
And while I'm here, the FSM (remember that little book?), says to use PETROLEUM JELLY. I've used it on the first two/three engines I did but decided the hylomar is better, for me anyway. I'd still use vaseline if hylomar was not readily available. I'd just make sure I didn't dilly dally around during the assy of the engine.
