Emissions yet again

hey all u know that they now got a new test out? after they do the normal 25 mph they slow it down to 15. so i really failed that one. for this test i got him to do it in 2nd gear so that the rpms wer right under 3K but i ddint know about the second test so they keep it in 2nd again and the rpms were right under 1.7K. but he said next time he will do the second test in first so that the rpms will be higher. cuz last year the difference between me passing and failing was 2nd gera test and 3rd gear test. i guess that is just when the air pump kicks in or something i dunno. but what would yall suggest i do to clean up my act? when my tank gets low i will do the denatured alcohol but for now i want to do it the right way. so what all shopuld i replace? the plugs and o2 sendsor were replaced about this time last year or a little over 12k miles. so any advi ce weoudl be greatly appreciated
in the 25 mph i failed the
hc ppm with a 464 out of 168 allowed
co % .72 out of 1.08 pass
NOxppm 510 out of 1208 pass

in the 15 mph i got
hc ppm 852 out of 173
co% .96 out of .98 pass
792 out of 1323 pass

God I'm glad FL doesn't do emissions anymore. No pre-cat, no cat, and my car smells like g***.

Make sure your acv is functional. See the manual online for free at http://www.fc3s.org

On the top of your acv there is one pipe that sticks straight up. Put a long vac hose on it and suck. Did it hold a vacuum?????? If not, the switching diaphram is busted. Burnt up and toasted.

At idle, does your acv's dump hose at the bottom constantly dump air into the large black rubber hose? If so, the reilief diaphram isn't working for one reason or the other.

Never owned a high flow cat. I'm sure they are good for a season or two. Dan Carwin has a good idea.

89's don't have a variable resistor to play with to lean the idle out.

New plugs for sure and set the timing spot on.

I noticed they did my 15 and 25mph in forth gear. Gad. I never in my life drove a car at 1500 rpm in forth.

ACVs suck and is probably the problem.
Cats suck too. Which brand are you using? How old?
Emissions testing sucks even more.
Your plugs need replacing. Change yearly or 10k miles. Anymore and you are asking for trouble.
Also, change the oil if it hasn't been done recently.
If your OMP/MOP is working and you run premix, don't.
O2 sensors last a while. Cheapo generic ones don't. Hope that you are using a Bosch or Mazda o2 sensor. It too is an easy to test with a voltmeter.
Make sure your TPS is set also.
Replace or clean your air filter.
I tried the alcohol trick and still failed. The shop also noticed the hotter exhaust temps and asked if I used the "pass emissions" additive which also doesn't work.
You should also run a couple bottles of FI cleaner several tanks before you retest. Or, if you have the money to waste, get the engine decarboned/motorvac'd. I have seen a 25% reduction in emissions after a motorvac.

I thought Ga, AL, Miss and FL didn't have emissions? Maybe I was told wrong about the others (I know FL doesn't)
