Emissions inquiries! Ya!
So, long story short, I moved to a county in GA that requires emissions and my TII motor has no emissions on it . I need to know what I need to reinstall to get to pass emissions. I haven't gone to get it tested yet, so I'm not sure what it will lack to pass, I'd just like to know what basic equipment I need to have on the car in order to get it to pass inspection.
It's an 87 TII motor in an 88 Vert chassis. It's basically just the block, intake, and turbo on it at the moment, rat's nest is gone. I do have the original 88 motor sitting in the garage, with it's emissions intact, what parts are interchangeable, if any? Any input would be appreciated!

Well first of all what test do they do. Visual or just sniffer with the gas analyzer? If they do no visual, you just need to make sure you 7 will pass with a good cat and an engine in good condition with possibly an air-pump that runs below 3000rpm only.
If they have both, you will need the entire vacuum nest, ACV, actuator rack, air-pump, split air pipe (there might be more). Take a look at the FSM, it shows everything there.

Their visual consists of poppin a mirror below the car and looking for a cat. When I took in my 240sx, I don't even think they opened the hood. They throw it up on the dyno and stick the sniffer in, then test the gas cap.
Anyone know offhand if the air pumps are interchangeable between N/A's and turbos? I'm not sure if I have mine in the shop anymore, but I know it's still on my old N/A motor.

yes airpumps are the same. If you choose to use the rx7 airpump, it will always blow air into the cat if you don't run the ACV and other emission components and just hook it up through the split air tube to the cat. The stock system only runs the airpump below 3000rpm. If you run it full time you will burn up the cat. So take caution in doing this and only run it to the emissions station and back home.
Denatured alcohol or ethanol mixed into your tank will help bring down HC emissions, since you are planning on running alternative cleaner fuels right ; )... Be careful when "converting" your fc to run on alcohol as your old fuel lines might not like it if you run it for too long on a strong mixture of above 20% alcohol or so, make sure you dilute your alcohol after running your tests. Make sure your engine is in good condition and you should be fine.

Yeah, the alcohol trick always sorta freaked me out, so I never tried it. The fuel lines are new, so I may give it a shot. I was planning on getting the car to pass, then returning it back to the way it is now. I honestly just want to get it to pass so I can get the stupid thing registered.
I've read that someone rolled with some electronic air pump, I think it was a Corvette pump. Is there another one I could slam in there for the purpose of being an emissions scumbag?

Yes the corvette pump was what I was hinting on. But unless you wire it up using a relay connected to the ACV signal so it only runs under 3000rpm, you will be better off just using the rx7 pump for emissions purposes.
Don't worry about the alcohol if you have new rubber lines. You will be fine.

i did a car like this
um basically i put the air pump and acv back in it and i plugged 2 solenoids in to run it.
since there is no vacuum rack, i just ran the 3-4 vacuum lines, from the solenoids to the ACV.
we put a cat in it.
and even with a bad motor it passed with flying colors. it blew like 5% co at idle, but cleaned up to almost 0 @2000rpms
the NA solenoids are the same, the air pump had different inlets and out lets, and a different mounting NA to turbo, but i bet you could get it to work.
ACV is definately different though.

Yeah, I discovered today that the brackets for the Turbo are no longer in my possession, so I have to obtain some new ones. I've been reading over the manual to try to figure out how to reinstall all of that crap.
