he's referring to this:
Step 5: Reverse Lights and Neutral Safety Switch
Locate the two red wires on the manual transmission, keep them in mind.
Look for a white three pronged clip that used to plug into the automatic transmission, cut all three wires and connect the bottom two together "this will allow you to start the vehicle" and connect the top of the three to one of the red wires on the manual transmission "doesnt matter which one, you will need to add some wire to complete the connection".
Now take the other red wire and run it into the inside of the vehicle through the shifter hole " you will need to add soem wire to complete the connection" locate the wiring harness in the shifter area that used to connect to the automatic shifter assembly.
Locate the 4 pin clip, now locate the black with yellow stripe wire and attach it to the wire you ran inside the car from the transmission "this will allow your revers lights to work".
I think that's neutral switch he's being told to wire up there and that desciption is REALLY shitty. (This wire will start your car....)

It's for a later model. I don't see any three socket plug involved. Here's some jpg of a series four starter circuit and reverse circuit.

There is a plug. It's called A03 and is as four socket connector, not three socket.

Welllllll........I've never seen a automatic car........but seeing as how its YOUR car and not mine.........................It seems the A03 connector went on the INHIBITOR switch on the automatic transmission. So I'd be looking at a plug with four sockets. One wire should be BW and another should be BR I'd jumper those two wires at the connector. That should make the circuit to the small single wire on the starter solenoid.

I've a small problem with this. It might work...but the diagram shows a interlock switch on the clutch pedal. I've no idea if your car has this switch installed or not or how the automatic cars handle this switch or where it would be on a automatic car since it ain't hardly got no clutch pedal to begin with. humor.

I think I'll drop out on this thread. I know I could make it work if the car was in front of me and I could see the arrangement of the switches etc. By the way...what is called the Starter Cut Relay in the diagram is located near/under the MainRelay in the engine compartment. DONE.

Ya know, You could just run a wire from the Ign straight through the firewall to the starter on the manual trans and be done with it. Just make sure you don't have the car in gear when you're starting it because it WILL start regardless of if the clutch is on the floor or not.

HAILERS thanks again for the wiring diagrams and stuff it got the car to start using our getto rigged starter line. i cant seem to find the proper wire that goes into the tab on top of the starter. what color is this wire on the starter? i know it has to run from a keyed ignition source to the starter. its the little tab in top of the starter what color is the line that is supposed to run to it??

If you want the "old timers" with the knowledge to help you when you call, you bettter toughen up. Or they'll flame the hell out of you or worse blow you off. Then you'll only get people like me, who don't know ****, responding and "advising" you to do the wrong stuff.

Hailers and the rest of 'xperts - you can be mean to me anytime you want. Just please don't blow me off!

The single, small wire that goes on the starter solenoid is BW or black with a white stripe......as shown in the diagram.

I've never seen a automatic transmission car. If you don't see it, maybe it was pulled off when you removed the auto transmission? It's supposed to be BW but after years of use it might not have held those colors. Might have faded the white stripe. Maybe. Maybe not.
