sounds like your acc wire (yellow) came into contact with the power wire behind the head unit. this will cause the radio to stay on no matter if the car is off, on, acc, etc.

make sure your wiring behind the radio is wrapped or crimped properly.

The wire that feeds the radio on a series four or five is L/W. There's also a L/R that is used for background lighting on the radio ...but not for powering the radio.

The ACC buss in the interior fuse box is only powered if the key is to ON or ACC and is powered from the igniton switch by a solid Blue wire.

I suggest someone wired the aftermarket device...........wrongly if there's such a word.

When the radio is working with the key in the off position, check the remote mirrors, if equipped, and see if they also work or not as they shouldn't. If they did work then that would suggest the ignition switch is not working properly.

not trying to thread jack here but i had the exact same problem crop up recently. cd player has been in the car for about a year and it just started. i tried that mirror test you recommended satch, and every time i hit the mirror button the power to the cd player would be cut. release the mirror adjustment and the power would return to the cd player.

thoughts?

taken from the FAQ:

LTBlue/Red= 12v+
LtBlue/White= +Accessory
LtBlue/Yellow= -power ant trigger
Red/Black=+ Lumination
White=Factory Amp Turn on

make sure that the wiring is correct and good ground is made.... other than that ive never ran across this issue, im curious to find out whats making that

The L/R is on the battery buss so the radio would stay powered up if the key was out in the backyard. Feeds off a 7.5 amp fuse.

The L/W is on the ACC buss and loses power with the key out. Feeds off a 20 amp fuse.
