well, then i am assuming that the one with the probe is the one i want. unless there is a probe already installed by mazda that i can tap into. which would you think is appropriate for my 87 t2?

I would take the first one. It said on the page probe included with the first one. You'll need to have an EGT bung welded into your downpipe.

The Autometer EGT guages are notorious for being inaccurate and slower to respond. Their A/F guages are useless other than a lights display.
Many of their other guages though, are fine. Their Tach's work great, as do their speedometers. Their mechanical guages seem pretty accurate according to my limited comparisons with a digital thermometer and pressure gauges, and their electrical gauges do as well.
The problem with autometer electrical gauges is that they are not full sweep, and thus not as accurate for the driver to read. They're maybe 100 or 120 degres of sweep, compared to the more expensive 270 degrees of the more expensive guages. Autometer has recently come out with full sweep electric gauges, but I'm yet to hear a report on them.
I would use autometer for their tachs, speedos, and full sweep gauges. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere for higher quality.

Jumping in late, but needed to clear up information....
Their gauges are as accurate and fast as the sender. However in the EGT case, thier sender is SLOW!!! In my Talon, I have a full sweep EGT w/ autometer probe. The thing hardly moves. My friend has the same gauge in almost the same car, however he has a Team Rip probe - that thing moves great!
There is nothing wrong with autometer gauges.
Some are not a preatty as other companies.
They're also not imported from Japan.
A few nice gauges (Greddy peak-and-hold gauges, Defi's) have a spiffy play back feature thats great! A turbo Civic friend of mine has 2 Defi gauges - he paid over $400 for the system. I can deal with not having playbackand saving $200 on the 3 gauges I have.

How are you guys using an EGT that only reads to 1600*F? Isn't that a bit out of the window? I would like to use the Autometers to match my other gauges, but if it doesn't read to 1800*F, it's pretty useless to me.
The Autometer may be OK for cruising, and maybe some low RPM tuning, but at WOT, a properly tuned 13B will have EGT readings above 1600*. Correct me if I am wrong, and remember, my background if from road racing, not street cars.

And I will always buy DEFI gauges. Quality is why I bought them.
