Ecu Wire Terminations

Let's see if I can explaing this right (doubtful).

Will a wire that goes to a SERIES FOUR ECU PLUG, also fit in a SERIES FIVE PLUG?

Or put it this way, are the terminations of the wires going into a SERIES FOUR ECU PLUG the same as the terminations of wires going into a SERIES FIVE ECU PLUG?

Or put this way. Is the socket on the end of a wire in a SERIES FIVE ECU PLUG , identical to the socket on the end of a wire going to a SERIES FOUR ECU PLUG????

Things I'm not asking: Will the plugs on a series four fit a series five ECU. No, did not ask that. Not interested because they won't/don't.

I'm asking if you extract a wire out of a series four ECU plug, will it fit into a series five ECU plug?

I've never seen a series five ECU/car/plug/thigamajig etc is why I ask.

Quiet everybody....... HAILERS just asked a question.......

I'll take some pics when I get home. You just want pics of the ECU plug and the harness plugs? Or do you want me to pop out the terminated ends and take a pic as well?

Want someone to pull a wire out of a series four ECU plug and install it in a series five ECU plug or vice versa. I kinda think they are the same terminations.

Nope. Don't need a picture, just someone to do the above. A picture might fool me. Can't judge size in a picture.
Thank you.

Thanks for the thought. But I know someone out there has messed with the wires on S4 and S5 both and tried to swap wires around. They'll know. If not I'll be begging for a picture later.

It should swap.
The only difference in plugs is the largest one has a bunch of offset pins on each end.
The female pins themselves are all the same part number.

Just wondering where you got the part number? I need to redo some wires on my S4 and these would sure make it alot easier.

It was a while ago when I was helping out Paul @ K2RD, and he was making those plug-through harnesses.
He found all the parts - I think they were either AMP or Sumitomo - and sourced them out for his projects.

These are NOT Mazda dealer parts.
They are from an electronics catalog.
Oh, and unless you're willing to drop like $100,000 for an order, don't even bother asking them for "small quantities".
