Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
This has been covered quite a few times, I guess I need to add it to the FAQ...
The N332 fits the 87-87.5 Turbo
the N333 Fits the 87.5-88 Turbo
the N334 is a Jspec

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
For reference, any of the 3 listed ecus will run any 87-88 t2 (or 86-88 in japan). There are only small changes mainly to emissions made in the ecu's.
**The impedance of injector and wiring make no difference to which ecu you run...the injector PLUS the harness (and possibly the resistor pack if present) make the difference in overall impedance...the ecu should see 13ohms regardless of year or model, the change is not in the ecu, but in the harness and injectors.**

UHmn, you didnt listen. ANy of the listed ecu's (332, 333, 334) will run any of the 86-88 turbo cars either jspec or aspec. The 89-91 cars are totally different...they run n370 series ecu's, and no you cannot mix and match that stuff.

i have a s4 t2 j-spek in my car now. and im having trouble getting the idle set. i dont know if its the 87-87.5 or the 87.5-88 but im running the n332 ecu. would the ecu cause this timing problem if its not the rite year? runs like a bat out of hell at WOT but when its at idle cant get it rite...

trying to figure this last part out...
So, if you ran an ecu from a low impedance rx7 turbo-II, into a Rx7 Turbo-II with a high impedance set up, i understand you wouldnt fry the ecu, but would you fry anything electrical in the chain between the ecu and the injectors??? i am sorry if i sound stupid or i am not paying attention, but i think too much as it is, and i am trying to get things straightened out, as i desperately fear that i will fry **** that is costly in my machine (i just brought my precious turbo-II back from the dead a few months ago, and it runs incredibly rich...) any response would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you,
Ryan Shannon.

I don't think there is such thing as an N334 ECU.
At least I haven't seen one.
An '88 E-spec ECU is N34x, and I think the J-spec one is the same?

here's my question. what about ecu n318? i was told i need ecu n318 to replace my current one, but i have seen that i can use n333 instead. does it matter? and what is the difference between the 2 ecu's?
EDIT: I own a '88 TII. I have not physically checked my ecu number yet because it is in the shop.

i got another question.
my car overinjects itself with so much fuel that it cuts off and can't stay running at idle. could these be bad: MAP sensor, ecu, fuel pressure regulator, injectors? is there anything else that could cause this?
EDIT: this problem has recently become more severe since I dropped my new streetported 13b in. my previous streetported 13b would not have it this rough, any idea what's going on?
