ECU + Injector question

I know for 87 the NA cars (maybe turbo as well) used either high or low impedence injectors.

I think my ECU is fucked, cause none of my sensors are responding when I play around with them. More detailed info is in my other post.
I remember when I first got the car, the ACV had one of the selenoids fried, as in burnt right out. I was told that this has the chance of taking the ecu with it, and honestly the way my car is running, I think that may be one of the issues with it.

Anyways, if I had low impedence injectors, would I need to find an ECU that handles the low ones?
Or do I just get a resistor pack?

thx

The 86 thru 87 1/2 turbo and na use low resistance injectors. Im too tired to check your post. What is the driveabiltiy issue? rx7doctor

The impedence has squat to do with the ECU. You need the ECU for your series car though. Also if it's a non turbo you need a non turbo ECU for your series car and the same applies for a turbo car car.

If you have a 87 non turbo you need a N326 or N327. You do not want a ECU that starts with N33?

Whether series four, early series four or late series four, say 1988, the ECU's all see apporx 12ohms resistance from the injectors whether high or low.

None of the sensors you are referring to will make a difference unplugged for idle.
When doing testing it is done at operating temp with the engine off. You are testing at the ecu for specific values to determine if their is a problem with the system.
What driveability issues are you having besides not being able to get the idle below 1k? rx7doctor

Addendum

Forgot to add Hailers is correct on the ecu. The 86-88 n/a are all interchangeable.

So what you guys are saying is you would be o.k. running low imp. injectors on AN 87 TII as long as you have the 87 ecu? I have a motor from a 10th AE to put in but I'm going with low imp. 1600cc secondaries. I wasn't sure if I could use the ecu that is in the car or if I would have to run the 88 ecu.

You can use low impedence injectors in a 87 IF the car came with a SOLENOID RESISTOR PACK. IF the 87 was made in the last half of 1987, then it came with high impedence injectors and NO Solenoid Resistor Package.

EARLY 1987......Solenoid Resistor package and low resistance injectors of about 2.2 ohms

LATER 1987 .....No Solenoid Resistor but the injectors are about 10-12 ohms.

You can use any 87 or 88 turbo ECU. The ECU does NOT make the difference. It's the value of injector circuit prior to the ECU.
