ecu identification

ecu identification

Ok so I bought an ecu under the impression that it was an n374, now I thought all s5 ecus only had two plugs. And s4 ecus have 3 plugs

Ok so I need to know if an n374 ecu has 3 plugs or 2

Ok well what ways can I tell if its a n374, can u tell by pulling the cover off and looking at the insides

post a pic of where the harness connects. N374 usually has a little black box off the top right when looking down at it. That would be a give away.

ok well i will post up pics once i get home, so is this little black box in the corner when i open up the ecu or is it on the cover, im assuming inside correct?

it's mounted to the side of the ecu, no need to open it up. the link lastphaseofthis posted will let you compare to see if the ecu is from the right series.

ok well im pretty sure its an s5 ecu, now how do i determine if its a tii ecu, it has like japanese writing on it, did they even have na ecus from japan or were they all tii?

ok so i guess the last thing i have to worry about is if its a vert ecu, because didnt they have verts in japan also, and they were all tii.. if it were a vert ecu that would cause a problem correct, becasue i though vert ecus were differeent from otheres, so you cant interchange them with coupes..

It doesn't matter if it came out of a vert. It would be the same ECU used in a coupe.

oh really...then just out of curiosity, why do they make coupe ecus and vert ecus? whats the point?

japan did have turbo verts

I'm pretty sure the drop top funtion runs throught he ECU so you cannot drop the top while at speed and screw **** up, but i dont know what speed this would be, i was able to drop mine at a 15 mph cruise(just for testing).

i also remember reading that the maps are diffrent because of the weight of the car, although they will still work with each other.

ok well im not worried about fuel or timing maps because im gonna puit in a rtek 2.1 so it will be adjustable. thnks for all the help guys
