EBC vs MBC

I know there are a few threads that have happened in the past debating the two, but I still wasn't satisfied. Basically there are pro's and con's for each EBC and MBC

MBC - is cheap, but can't adjust to ambient air temps. Also apparently has a tendency to spike more?

EBC - expenisve, but learns boost curve and adjusts to weather conditions.

that being said, I'd like anyone with either types of boost controllers to add in what their experiences ahve been. I know a MBC can be made pretty easy, but does anyone have and input on this:

Well my rule of thumb is if your Rich go for the EBC, and if your poor like me stick with the MBC, mine deosn't spike at all...P.S I got a spare one siting in front of and I'll let it go for 30 shipped....

Here is the SCC testing of boost controllers. They tested, dynoed, and evaluated 6 of the most popular electronic units and one simple ball-spring-valve manual controller. You would be suprised how much better the manual was than many of the electronics.
Be sure to read the intro article first where it explains how testing was done.

I use my ball and spring manual year round with no boost changes...

I would never get an electric one unless I wanted to switch boost settings. like 8psi for street and 15 for track.

if you'll just leaving it at one setting the EBC isn't worth the money to me.

Hey, and even if you wanted to have an 8psi/15psi set up you could upgrade to a dual stage manual

wow, no MBC bashing so far, I'm impressed. Well I just can't afford an EBC so I'm gonna stick a MBC at 10-11 pounds and see how it goes.
