I never had problems but it also depends on the boost you're pushing.

What have you found so far?

this one doesn't look too bad but it would have to go once you go with a larger turbo.

What turbo are you running? what are your HP goals? The right size depends on your plans/goals.

If you want to run stock turbo then the one above is perfect, but it's useless if you're going for 400hp. Get it?

Corksport sells a complete kit for 799 plus shipping (which includes a TID I think) but you have to contact them if you're interested.

I did a bit of searching a while ago about this and came to the conclusion that they must work okay. A lot of guys have been running them for a while now and I haven't come across any big problems with them.

I ended up with an e-bay IC thats 27" x 12" x 3" and it seems to be good quality, nice welds and it's pretty solid, though honestly heavier than i expected. My IC might be a bit bigger than I need but I'm not sure I'm using a BNR Stage 1.

The one thing I can tell you is that you want to find good couplers and t bolt clamps, not those single layer silicone couplers and screw clamps.

You'll most likely be safe with an ebay IC, if everything is done correctly. Good luck and post some pics when it's all together.

oh and phoenix, i like your ammended sig

ebay doesnt make intercoolers..... companies make them and sell them on ebay..... so if you show us the intercooler you are interested in, then we can make a valid assesment.... i have bought an intercooler off of ebay, cant remember the companies name, but it was a great intercooler.... 12x24x3....paid like $250 shipped...

are ICs of that size really necessary?? 32"x12"? Im running BNR stage 3 with a small 20"x9" core and have NO heat problems at all.. my intake temps are usually under 100F in boost, as low as 70F on cooler days, pretty much within 15F degrees of ambient. this is with a heat soaked stock intake temp sensor. and i dont think the sensor reacts fast enough to really see how low the temps get during high boost runs

and 3" might be a tad too thick. Bigger isn't always better.

haha, maybe if the girl is super loose then a 3 incher won't matter (remember we're talking thickness here) but that's a lounge topic.

please correct me if I'm not looking at it right:

the thicker it is the better it will cool the air going to the TB but the air that is supposed to go to the OIL cooler and Radiator will be hotter and will not work as effectively.

I have a tendency to over analyze things so maybe it's not THAT bad to go thicker.

Any thoughts?
