Do you all still have the belly pan in place? It seems that you all are saying (even those with unshrouded e-fans) that your temp is staying right where it should be, even on hot days and stop+go. While mine on the other hand gets very hot. Should i just try getting a belly pan first? Even if i make one out of cardboard to see if it makes a difference?

The type of plastic that you use is important. Polyethylene is very common and softens around 200 degrees F. On a hot day the heat from your radiator can cause the shroud to sag. Especially if the fan is mounted directly on the shroud.

About how far out from the radiator should i place the fan? I have about 10 inches from where the fan is now (directly on the rad) to the water pump pulley.

Will keeping the fan on the radiator and building a shroud around it work? Or should i place the fan a few inches away from the rad and make the shroud support the fan?

Well The shorud WILL be supporting the fan. You don't want the radiator supporting it.

I will be making mine sit about 2 inches off the radiator so the air has some moving room to come from the egdes of it.

The Efan will be connected to the shroud and then the shroud will bolt to the sides like stock.

I have no underbelly pan and my temps are fine with the escort e-fan. Plus it only cost me 15 bucks

Im going to try a stock fan shroud first, and cut it down to size. It seems that many people have had luck with it, so im going to try at well. Any idea on exactly how much to trim off and where?
