e-fan?

ok, i parked my rx-7 in the sun for a few minutes.

when i put the key in the ignition a to close the windows, a heard a fan coming from under the hood

when i looked, the clutch fan, was, of course, not spinning , but i still felt airflow and it seemed as though there must be a fan under the radiator

is there some sort of back up efan ? what could this noise be

Some FC's had an auxiliary electric fan that ran when the A/C's on or if the engine reaches ~205degF. You can see it by looking in the nose.

its rather loud.... maybe ill get a temp switch for it. assuming it does help a little on hot days. (?)

Removing the A/C won't cause the fan to run. On an S4, unplugging the temp sensor on the thermostat housing will do that.

I believe that a factory pusher e-fan was an option on the FC. It could be that.
