it looks like there is a quite substantial bit of intercooler getting air flow, i'd be more generous and say 75% direct! plus that thing looks freaking mean with those pipes sticking out from those vents!

well, i was thinking about that too...
so what i am doing, is extend the duct in the back towards the top end of the intercooler.
that way, the air can reach 26 of the 30cm total height and efficiency will be a lot higher!

i will show some pics of this when its done

been a little quiet lately, but the work has continued ever since, so about time for an update!

after the IC was in place, i had to cut some holes to feed the pipes through

new steering wheel mounted, you can also see the AFC Neo under the headunit

turbo timer on the left, boostcontroller on the right

Greddy Compression tube got in to fit my FMIC pipes

and the car has visited the painter for a fresh coat of paint in the engine bay.
it has turned out very sexy!

the buildup could begin! cleaning everything and using all new nuts and bolts

this is how it is sitting right now

have to work out some little stuff, then the engine can be dropped into place.
the next two weeks i have to go on some buisiness trips to germany and the UK, so dont have much time. but when i am back the engine will be put in!

at the end of january, i have a week off to finish things up, so then the key will be turned!

Awesome! Can't wait to see it when the engine is in! Nice choice of steeringwheel. Is that 380mm?

All this work and your gonna half *** it with the stock ecu and a piggyback? What a waste! Other than that everything else is looking good.

dont know the size of the wheel, just liked the look

@ Juiceh
i am going to have the stock ECU remapped by a company who has raced FC's in the past and have tuned the fastest FC in Holland that way (420hp)
the AFC is just for quick and easy adjustments if needed.
why on earth would i go standalone with stock turbo, RB exhaust, FMIC and 720cc sec injectors? in the future i will be upgrading when i go for a larger turbo, but i plan on running this setup for some time, so imo not worth the effort and money right now...

I don't see why you wouldn't want to get rid of an old rotting wiring harness. You have soo much more tuning capability with a standalone. So many more advantages even if it is just on a stock turbo. But if money is a factor then...I can understand. But hell, I can get a microtech lt8s with a brand new harness for about 400.

Hey, but anyway, the project looks great!

Yeah, I've been screwing around with a MegaSquirt on a Beamer engine at school, and standalone's kick ***!

had finished up my brake lines so i am forever free of ABS!

on the sotck non-abs master there is a connection on the bottom for the front-left brake, nut i decided to stcik with this master and fabricate my own lines. pressure distribution is same as stock
then i mounted the Sard FPR, but maybe need to mount it somewhere else, just need so see how it fits with the intercooler piping

then the weekend started again and could really get busy!
after having some trouble removing the pilot bearing, i replaced it and got on with mounted the new ACT clutch

the egine is in already, dont have any pics of the work, but we filmed it all the way through. will be posting this asap
so for now you have to settle for some pics!
in the last pic you van also see the oilcooler mounted back in place.

pushed the car outside for a look under normal daylight, but damn thta looks sexy!

mounted the plug wires, also wired the battery cables to the trunk

i sold the stock radiator some time ago, but i found out that i forgot to take the brackets off before i sold it, so i had to make new ones.

then mounted the new fan to those brackets

hooked up the Greddy boost controller solenoid

moved the Sard FPR, cause i ran into some troubles fitting the intercooler to the throttlebody

i have a deadline: 29 february! that day i have an appointment to get the car tuned on the dyno, so 1st of March i will be back on the road!

only thing thats been a little set-back is delivery of the Red intercooler hoses, which are awfully delayed. looks like i am not going to have them in time for the dyno, so for now i will be using blue hoses just to get all things running...
