Technically, freeze12 is 80% 134A and 20% 142b, so basically what Icemark said. There are no drop-in replacements for R-12 (at least in the US) where you can simply top off the existing r-12 system. You should pull a vacuum to get rid of the old refrigerant, replace the fittings with the correct ones, and then put in the new refrigerant.

There is a great video of a Porsche 928 at a car show venting and burning the HC a/c charge during the show. Apparantly Porsche 928 owners carry fire extinguishers due to wiring issues and a whole bunch of the extiguishers were brought to bear, so there was little damage except to paint.

I have run the envirosafe HC in a couple of different cars and my primary objection to it is that it just doesn't have the ***** for our local weather.

so what Sideways7 said i think im just going to do a convertion 134a instead all for only $160 and i think im going to finally get some ac today anyone want to give me confidence and tell me its what i should do?
