Dumping a tank of gas

Odd question... (87 TII)

Say one needed to remove all the gasoline from the tank. How would you go about doing it? I'm guessing there is probably an anti-siphoning device on the filler neck.

The best idea I've come up with is to get to the fuel-pump access, remove the feed and return lines and connect a length of hose from the feed to a bucket...

Then click the key to 'on'.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good way to let your pump run dry and cause unnecessary wear to it when there already exists a gas tank drain plug.

I had done a Walbro install and at the same time I used a siphon technique to remove half the gas.(87 and now my TII will need 91).

I used a long hose and a glass of water.

Suck water into the hose so you can start the siphon without sucking gas.

Clamp it shut and route the hose down to a bucket.

Remove the clamp and sit there until it's done.

Now fill a soda can up with gas light it on fire and kick it down your street! Fun for everyone!
