i think there is a group buy deal going on at teamfc3s.org. it comes with replacable u-joints.

other than that. no. your best bet is to go to a shop specializing in that.

Rockforddriveline.com buy the #430-10A replacement U-joints for your driveshaft. Drimmel the stakes and bang the old ones out. Press the new ones in and be on your way for about $50.00

I'll post pics it you want em.

I don't know, but my guess is that they are just a replacement. They do offer an NA/TII driveshaft, so I guess you could consider that an upgrade (or downgrade) depending on your perspective. You could call Mazdatrix to see if they know the weight, torque rating, and/or inertia rating of their aftermarket driveshaft.

I don't think an upgrade above the TII shaft is necessary except in extreme cases. The only production driveshaft upgrade I know of is from Mazda Motorsports, and it is a 2-piece driveshaft that is marketed as a vibration upgrade for GT cars rather than a strength or inertia upgrade.

Cosmo, do you have to balance it again??? I am not sure but I thought that if you put it back together the exact same way that the balance remains from the original. I am asking because I am not sure either way, not questioning your opinion.

You need to get it re-balanced if you even look at it wrong, lol. Even a new Mazda driveshaft needs to be balanced. In fact, if you just take off the original driveshaft and put it right back on the car, it will be out of balance if you did not pre-mark the flanges and bolt it back on exactly as it was. See the service manual for information.
