driver side motor mount

driver side motor mount

any good way to get that son of a bitch lined up putting a new engine in? any trick i should know about?

Yep.

Step one.

Line up the passenger side motor mount and put the nut on about 3 turns.

Step two.

Jack the motor from the front hook and then jack it way up.

Step 3.

Let the motor drop slowly while shoving the motor back toward the hole...

Step 4.

Kick punch and scream and repeat the process..Untill it gets in there.

I feel sorry for you if it is convertible the extra braces make the job x2 as hard...

Loosen the nuts that hold it to the block. Then slowely lower it down. You might have to use a pry bar to help manuver it into position.

That's what works for me. I find it easier to do w/ another person. Have 1 person pry it into position while you catch the nut.

Before I read this thread again I tried loosening the bolts that hold the mount to the block, got it in in a few tries by myself. All bolted on and am ready to really get working on it now.
