Drive shaft

I need to replace the front yolk on my drive shaft but i thought it may be easier just to replace the entire thing. I want to know if a S5 coupe driveshaft will fit my S5 convertible or do i need to buy one off a vert??

According to this page (http://www.mazdatrix.com/g9.htm) (mazdatrix), there's no differencee. If you're looking to buy a new one, I'll say that the mazdatrix unit is a very good piece. I've got it in my 7 and I'm very happy with it. I'd be wary about swapping from another Rx-7, cause it's going to be just as old as yours.. Make sure you doublecheck the U-joint play on that shaft before you pay for it

the mazdatrix ones also have replaceable u-joints, whereas the mazda oem ones do not.

Slavage yards usually charge $100-$125 for a used one. Just make sure they say "we're giving you a good one"

Use the search function up top and plug in Ujoint. There is a billion threads on this subject and they are replaceable.
