In the FC; the R-type tranny found in the Turbo models is the strongest.

i heard the 88 N/A has a pretty good one as well seeing as u can take it to 9 or 10grand without a problem

so, a turbo tranny, turbo starter, and turbo flywheel with a hybrid drive shaft would be ideal for an NA drive train to last a long time?

yeh a turbo tranny wont even flinch with a NA hooked up to it.

well not exactly... A poor driving style will kill a tranny 1000 times faster than too much power.

regardless of if that is a R type or a M type.

N/A tranny will hold cause i got a buddy with almost 300hp with a 88 gxl N/A tranny on a TII no problems....

No, it didn't sound stupid, I edited out some of the more post ***** replies in this thread.

But unless there is some major HP reason, there is no reason to swap trannys if your driving style is correct.

you guys are forgetting about weight. if you swap in the TII drivetrain into a non-turbo, you are adding a good amount of weight.
you really shouldn't do it unless you have a good reason to...it's hard to get an NA to break the stock tranny because of power. it will break because of how you drive maybe...but most high-hp non-turbos still don't have much torque, even if they ARE making 350hp at 20,000rpm.

in any case the "strongest" tranny i suppose is the S5 Turbo. pretty much the same as S4, but it has syncromesh on the reverse gear.
