Drivability Problems with the A/C on

My car is drives fine everyday no problems. But when i turn the AC on the car has noticable vibration to it when at idle and low grumbling sound, but the ac stills gets the car cold. then when im off driving the acceleration is quite slow right off the line but thens its ok after that. the worst thing has happened is that the engine will just shut off. it has shut off when im cruising at constant speed or when i accel. any body knoe what is causing this.

The grumbling and slow acceleration when the AC is turned on is because of the compressor. The compressor causes drag on the motor. The grumbling is probably the bearings, etc on the compressor getting old.

Dying at odd intervals? Thats REALLY wierd. Check for loose connections in the engine bay. Maybe around the CAS.

Well, usually we would suggest you clean your Bypass Air Control Valve, but, considering it dies while you're moving, I'm not going to bother. I'm assuming heat/etc work just fine? Anything else unusual happen when it stalls, lights go out, etc?

nope it just stalls and all the lights come on when you first start the car like with ignition on but engine not runnin. does this have to do with like a fuel cutoff thats the only thing that i can really think of, becuase theres no kinda warning no sounds no sudden movements................... just stall

my ac works great and im in s fla..but every once in awhile i hear a clicking from the logicon area and the rpms/idle drops and the car tries to stall..idle becomes quite crazy...and sometimes it just dies when i put it in gear...auto tranny...but always only with ac on.

it seems extremely random with no real regularity..i could drive for awhile in stop and go with no probls then out of the blue...click and bad idle...sometimes ill get stuck at a long light and the problem will resolve itself after a few minutes..again with a click noise and idle is back to normal.

I had a similar problem and changed the BAC valve and it did squat for me. When you turn up the fan, does it stall?
