but as far as I'm concerned, I'd rather see an AE with drift damage than an ae that never saw above 3000 rpm.

AMEN. if you've got the car, why not use it?? i know i use my '89 GTU. i mean it's a beautiful car, and god knows i baby the hell out of it, but it'll get up and MOVE, and that's precisely what i usually do with it. not too hard, shift at5-6k, but still.... haulin' ***

anyways i think the point is, it's your car - do whatever you want with it. if somebody wants to tell you that you're an *** because you drift your AE, that's awesome - i wish i was there to see it. i wouldn't drift my 7 (not yet, at least), but then again.... it wasn't my 7, so do what you want!! this is getting pointless though, so i'm stopping .... i suck

Hey, the car will be fixed. My 10th AE definately suffers a bit more abuse then most, but I fix whatever I damage.

Yeah, I'm not even THAT bad. My car sees 8000rpms every time I drive it.

I love mine too, but you seriously have to drive her hard once in a while for protective maintenance. I used to be like that when I first bought the car. But after reading a lot of threads on this forum I realized that revving it high actually does good for the engine; cleans out carbon and keeps the seals healthy. You need to redline her atleast once a week. if not more

and you'll love it when your secondary injectors don't work and your engine has nice spots of thick crusty carbon on the inside. REDLINE IS HEALTHY. If you don't drive an RX-7 hard at least occastionally you are KILLING the engine.

Well, there is a certain element of danger when you travel the speeds I do, sideways. But yes, I do have a tendency to hit things....

Yea, regarding redline, don't baby the engine. Mine was owned by 2 women drivers early in it's life. The 6th ports were completely seized up, I'm betting my secondaries are probably not in the best condition (I'll get them cleaned... sometime), and the inside was all carboned up when I tore it apart after it lost an apex seal at 120k miles.

Plus... what's the point of owning a sports car if you don't drive it hard every now and then?

Sliden the rear is great fun. That small amount of damage can be fixed in no time. If you race you should learn how to do minor body repairs (.....bondo.....paint) You and Dale Jr. keepin' bondo in business. You should get a medal for your efforts.

Seriously, you racing is really cool. Keep it up, win a few times and soon a sponser will pick up the cost of those small little booboos.
