OMG, that really sucks man, I'm sorry. I've always wanted to learn and try drifting but that's exactly what I've been scared I'd do. Again sorry, but other than the damage how'd you do at the event?

casio 07-11-04 06:24 PM

hope the 10th annie police dont flame ya. sorry man. battle damage happens. i doubt this will keep you from the track.

scheistermeister 07-11-04 06:26 PM

dont you get extra points for kissing the wall?

Screw the 10th ANNI police. Its my car and I can do what I want with it....:D

Nah, wont keep me off the track, just will keep me a little farther away from the wall.

87base RX-7 07-11-04 06:29 PM

Falcoms 07-11-04 06:30 PM

dude, sorry about that, sux really, but I'm sure that you'll be out there again soon enough.

Damn walls, just jump outta nowhere and get ya in the ass :)

87base RX-7 07-11-04 06:33 PM

yea kindah like trees!!!!!!!:cursing:

Syonyk 07-11-04 06:53 PM

This is why I'm looking for a beater to learn drifting in. Or a big open parking lot or such. But a beater would be preferable, because if I kiss a wall, I shrug, duct tape pieces back on, and continue.

DEZERTE 07-11-04 06:57 PM

Sorry man...I hope you can fix it without it being too costly.. do you have any more vids for us of you in action?

Cory Simpson 07-11-04 07:07 PM

Ahhh.... That's OK, looks like there was putty in there anyways. :)

88IntegraLS 07-11-04 07:15 PM

O yeah, racing is expen$ive. I mean drifting.

RX-Heven 07-11-04 07:34 PM

ya play ya pay

87base RX-7 07-11-04 07:35 PM

ohh the tree didnt have too do with drifting and that incident totaled a 89 ford probe involved wet grass (cant stop) ditch (got into it couldnt yank the e brake so my front wouldnt hit (most expensive part on a FF) a big tree in the ditch (they dont like too get out of the way do they) and leaning too adjust the radio on my first day on my license grr (leaned pulled steering wheel over turn in ditch then somtin like sh** sh** sh** thud at about 35 too zero seat belt cracked my floating rib but thats bout it and it brightened me up (better to reck that and learn too be more careful so i dont reck the seven doing somtin stupid

Zeta-Gouki 07-11-04 07:45 PM

In the winter time here there is an ice track that is 3.1 miles long.

Best way to learn to drift... and the cheapest.

Tires last ALOT longer and when you hit the "walls" they are just snowpiles. ;)

I've only driven my 85 there though...

Zer0 Cylinder 07-11-04 07:46 PM

ill sell you a s4 rear bumper + set of taillights for cheap =]

vrooom305 07-11-04 08:42 PM

that'll buff right out

akademiks 07-11-04 08:43 PM

dorifto damage impresses all the ladies

clownracer 07-11-04 09:07 PM

any pics from the event????

RotaryResurrection 07-11-04 09:15 PM

Damn man, that sucks. It's how you learn though, experience. Hope you get her back together straight.

I'm not directing this at you, nor am I trying to be insensitive. But I just don't comprehend the thrill of the whole drifting craze. Rims and body panels aren't cheap, and the ratio of damage incurred during attempted drifts to damage incurred in drag or road racing is probably quite high. Why you'd go out and get involved with something that has such a high probability of hurting your car. In my mind, it'd be like taking my convertible that I've worked so hard on, out railroad track jumping or something...you KNOW something's gonna get screwed up.

Like you said, it's your car, you can do what you want...I can't figure that out, though.

introVert 07-11-04 09:24 PM

I'm def. with RR on this one- ^

DEZERTE 07-11-04 09:28 PM

its a thrill, some people like the feeling of controlling a car driving sideways at 70mph. others dont i guess

casio 07-11-04 09:30 PM

i haven't tried it, but i imagine its the mere thrill of driving like a maniac (but in control if you're above amateur). if there's one thing i'd love to do, it'd drive balls-out. driving balls out would include breaking the rear tires lose in a turn. it seems fun, but like i've said, i haven't tried. i live in city suburbs, and there doesnt seem to be too many safe, legal places. some people actually care about their driving record (or just cant afford tickets:)).

n4ji 07-11-04 09:37 PM

WHO WAS IT A WHILE BACK THAT SAID PEOPLE DON'T TAKE CARE OF THEIR AES!!!!!!!!!!

Hah, consider the AE police here. Nah, like you said it's your car, do with as you please. It's my choice if I garage mine every night and read it a bed time story.
:D

n4ji 07-11-04 09:44 PM

I saw a nice set of AE taillights on ebay yesterday for a good price. Might pick them up while you're at it?
