You'd save a lot of time using a cordless drill and a cutting bit. Dremels take too long.

Not from porting experience, but in similiar applications in our business, we use a high speed air angle or straight grinder with variable metal bits. Air grinder at Harbor freight, 19.95, but bits go from 25-175, each. Using an adjustable drill guide adapter, the freehand accuracy is amazing. Secret is -not to much pressure. These bits with high rpm, can shave 1/4" inch in minutes. And clean.

PEACE MOMBO

Pretty much you need a **** load of RPM.

I used what I had.

Dremil with lots of low grit sanding barrels and grinding stones and a drill press(not enough speed but good pressure)

That metal is thick and hard so it took me a while.

I was gonan sue the tungsten carbide bits dremel sells. As for the dremel not being good enough, my dremel 400 series xpr eats 1/4 AL easily with the included cutting bit, i havent even tried the tungsten carbide yet. so.....

buy a die grinder and a carbide burr, your hands will thank you for it later.

In my experience, the cheap hardware grinding stones work great on the cast iron of the turbine housing. Use a die grinder.
