Driving lights - second generation

Has anyone cut open the back side of the "flash-to-pass" lenses and inserted a small driving light? I like to have lights on all the time to be seen by other drivers. Also, does anyone know a location under the hood where I can tap into +12 volts that is only hot when the ignition is on? Thanks!

do it properly and tap an 12 volt ignition source .. usualy with the stereo ... and if u can ground to the chassis directly .. ur gunna want as cleana ground as u can for a light that small and that exposed to weather ... and yeah im doing the same thing with my lenses .. and well yeah .. im using gay aftermarket foglights ... removing the ugly yellow lense and sealing the lenses in the fron clip

^ I've done the daytime running light thing. I STRONGLY suggest using a relay - I've drained my battery more than once forgetting I left the DRLs on. I personally use the cigarette lighter as a ignition switched +12v source for my stuff.

it does take forever, there should be a choice to select writeups and what generation you want. i get all excited when i see a huge list of threads and find that 90% of them are for 3rd gens. just my .02 on the situation. I've programed websites in the past as well as Cisco routers and switches, i know all too well about the time it takes to get something programed just right.
