Drag Racing Question

I top out 3rd gear right at the end of the 1/4 mile, anyone think i'd be better off shifting into 4th around 6750 or should i keep ridding out 3rd to about 7200?

you might want to think about telling everyone what youre racing and what mods you have.

Dont shift into 4th. Just stay in 3rd, it will save you alittle time.

I agree, just stay in third, you may run into redline a little but its faster than taking the time to shift.

Yes, just ride out 3rd. While it may be out of your powerband slightly, it will still be much faster than shifting to 4th.

my tii before the new turbo and 8:1 a/f after 4k was running a 14.1 at 96 if i kept it in 3rd and a 14.2 at 101 if i went into 4th....

i thought about that for a while and decided the answer was to get a bigger turbo and a safc. Now hopefully when i go back to the track ill be going fast enough to have to shift into 4th... and run a respectable time too.

Umm, 8:1? Is that a guess? No lambda unit reads that low, so I don't know how you can accurately claim to have that number (let alone have the car run)

yea its a guess.... the dyno sheet is posted. ill find a link in one sec. i have 680s in as sceondaries and nothing to tune with. silly me. at 4k the a/f goes right off the bottom of the chart. yes the chart ends at 10a/f.

Wideband O2 sensors can only read down to 10.... you maxed the thing out!
