which downpipe is better?

Hey I've been doing a little shopping lately and was wondering which of these three downpipes is the best?

- Racing Beat 3" DP
- BONEZ 2.5" DP
- HKS 3" DP

if anyone has had experience with these DPs feedback would be appreciated.

kinda have a little question too...ehm i know i'll be seeing an hp increase...basically my engine is kinda stock 'cept for an intake and 3" custom exhaust to the stock DP. now should i buy the DP, what else would i be needing? a fuel cut controller maybe?

thanks rotaryracer1...any noticeable performance gains from your system?

you should be hitting fuel cut right now.. your lucky your not. get a RB FCD at least and port your wastegate. Ive seen the RB 3" and the HKS 3" one get whatever brand you like best or you can get a better deal on. I like the RB

so that's the RB FCD and the RB DP...i kinda like the RB DP i mean its well worth its price at 125.

how about the fuel system? i can upgrade that later right? i mean i can push the car to its limits without risking anything with the RB DP and the FCD right?

i'm doing about 7-8psi...can't read the stock gauge well lol stupid mmHg. well i already ordered a boost gauge and its on its way...i shouldnt be boosting more than 8 psi though, it is a stock engine with minimal mods done to it.

So did the SSautochrome exhaust deliver performance? How much power gain? I thought I saw a Fuel cut defenser on rx7store.com for $80, that's a better price than RB's, right?

You're probably going to see similar gains from each and every downpipe given they're all the same diamter. You can't really get all innovative with an FCs downpipe as it's just two bends, and then a straight shot.

exhaust is not complicated as some make it out to sound, basically they all have their own tones and sounds which draws some to like one system more than another but really you likely won't notice any difference in power between any and all of them including the cheapo systems on ebay, but when you get near the engine you need a quality manifold or you will wind up with a cracked pile of metal once the rotary gods have finished beating on it with their flaming mandrels!

turboback though, just go for note and tone, there will be virtually no difference in performance with little variations siding with a high flow cat vs a resonator.

I bought my car when it was totaly stock and had a blown turbo. i got the turbo rebuilt and then put on the exhaust, a cone filter, hks ssq bov, so i dont know what a stock T2 feels like. i see 7lbs of boost consistantly thru the gears on my autometer phantom gauge.

yeah thats the problem....getting an Rtek kinda sucks, i mean you have to send you ecu in right? and i want to drive the car not let it sit there for up to 2 mths. so an fcd will do fine. now the walbro, its a good fuel pump i've heard great things about it. now of course right now i'll just order the dp and the fcd and in six months get the walbro and larger secondaries (720s)...hehehe can't get all of it now.

when i got my t2 the turbo was blown too...had to get it rebuilt...idunno if there's any difference between the stock and a rebuilt one.
