Is it possible to replace the round lights with the square tail lights from the S4. I saw the writeup regarding doing the reverse. I found a nice pair at the junkyard, and I just want something diferent.

 

I'm pretty sure they would just bolt right on. I dont know why you would want to do that though

 

because s4 taillights pwn. Maybe he broke his s5s and it is to much cash for him to buy a single new one when he can get both s4s for cheap

 

Nope. The current S5 lights are in perfect condition. No cracks or leaks. I just want to change things up. Maybe mod the S4 lenses. I am not going to sell the S5 lenses. That would be foolish. I def think the S5 looks much better. But I just like to tinker with stuff.

They bolt right inwithout any modification as best I remember. The S4 liscense plate frame that goes between the lights is made a little different but if I remember correctly the S5 works without any problems. I ran S4 tails a friend gave me for acouple of months after I was rear-ended until I could find some used S5's.

 

s4's kick *** on a black fc all other colors s5 are best

I have a mint set of S4 tail lights that were refinished if anyone wants to downgrade. I am willing to part with these beautiful tail lights just to help the good of the RX7 community.

i don't understand the hype about s5, I think they look like a blur or color.. looks really cheep to me... not that s4 look better. neither are even appealing. someone who doesnt even kno what a rx7 is isn't going to be like "damn, nice tail lights"

 

Actually i had a guy follow me to a gas station one time and compliment me on my tails. He asked if they were aftermarket and if he could possibly fit some on his foxbody mustang.

 

That is because the S5 tails look so much like T bird tails.

 

S5 ftw... it's a clean design that looks even cooler when the lights are on and it's dark outside.

S4 lights are like a generic 80's design. Wow, a bunch of rectangles.

They look ok on 10AE's though (but that's because they're a bit different)...

I'm not saying this because I have an S5... I'm being completely objective, and thought they were superior long before I even thought of buying an RX-7.

 

Only in the way that a Ford Taurus' rear end looks sort of like that of an FD :p

(same matter for the TransAm as well...)

 

S5 arent anythign special at all. niether are the s4 tails. i think they both look too old school for the body style. someone should take the new tails from the mazda 6 and retro fit them.

 

And S5's are like a generic 90's design...

 

Daytime:
S4's > S5's

Nighttime:
S5's > S4's

Overall:
S4's > S5's


Don't get me wrong, S5's kick *** but the S4's simply beat them overall.
