What causes this problem? Door mis-aligned ?

I thought the hinge was stuck or somthing so i sprayed penetrant into it and now its WORSE! lol. Ive seen this on a few other FCS so i know its not uncommon..but how do you fix it? My door isnt loose / has no play when its open , and slowly developed this problem

Thanks !

Mine does that because of the "pressure" inside the car
Try it with the window open

its the same with the windows down, and drivers side closes very easily!

Recently my passenger ripped off my door panel because thats how hard you have to pull the door to close

Your door is not aligned correctly, Take it out and do it, ask a friend/family member to help u, trust me it makes life 1000 times easier. with 2 person it should take around 15 minutes.

my driver side door, it closes fine when I first got it, but after it has been on jackstand for a while and left it hanging a few times, it does not close correctly, I took it out and realign it, smooth like butter now.

You just have to remove the fender to get access to the hinge bolts. That's all there is to it.

Loosen the two big phillips screws that is holding the door latch and readjust it. I was just having the same problem as well.

heres a tip.

it ma be sagging a bit to mind it up. what you have to do is open the door, and on the tip of the door on the bottom, put a jack there and jack it up some. put a 2x4 there to not damage he door. jack it up a good bit till you see the car start to shift, and let it stay there for 30 minutes, then release the jack.

now that sounds worthwhile or even just adjusting the latch like a previous member said....

dont really have anyone to help hold/allign a door

I have this same issue on the passengers door. AND doesnt help that my chick doesnt close it hard enough so ive had to jump my car a few times because the door didnt shut properly leaving all the interior lights on :/

Mine was like that but now I can close it with 2 fingers. It turned out to be the latch mechanism behind the door panel. The plastic part that contacts the door striker. Believe it or not if that black plastic thing is all cracked up/broken it wont close right and you'll have to slam it.
