Cool man, personally I am not into piston engines at all because they are well common but if you get it done well I can't really say much but I don't like it. Just don't ruin the car ya hear

BTW today i am going to try and get the roof on my car before sunset! which is in like 1 hour!

There is a point to having a see through roof. CF is pointless on something like this. Its just going to give you more "I have a small dick so I have to compensate" points!

Honestly I want the roof so I can look up and see something.

I'd get a carbonfiber one to replace my moon roof. I can't see through that anyway. Different strokes for different folks.

Ok I just got done installing it on the car. Yes I got some pix!

I figured some of us that got these don't know how to replace them so i'll give it a shot at a writeup!

1. You open up the roof about 3" and remove the seal it has on it right now.
2. You pull down on the front of the underside trim. It is attatched with "snaps" or whatever you call them. After getting all the snaps off the roof will slide forward and can be removed.

Above we see the roof's underside trim removed. I placed a Red dot where each snap is on the underside. I beleive I missed 2 additional ones.

3. next you will see the underside of the roof panel itself. It is attatched by 3 bolts a set of 3 on each side.

Above we can see two of the passenger's side bolts(nuts) to get at all six of the nuts you may want to close the roof as right now it is open and you can't reach! The size on these is 10mm IIRC so get your ratchet out.

The bolts removed you can now pop the panel up and out.

Now with the panel off you can see what you have to work with. I was told to remove these washer thingies circled but I couldn't for the life of me get them off. It still fit oh well....

4. Now you can place the new roof panel on the framework and bolt it down! Just make sure you use some silicone sealant on the heads to maintain a water tight fit! We don't like soggy FC's do we.

5. That done you need to replace the old seal with the new one included with our package. This was one of the trickiest parts of the whole deal! But I figured out a strategy for installing the seal that doesn't take 3 hours! What you do is hold the seal arched back so that it flares open(since it is very rigid while straight)

6. once your done going around the whole roof just cut the seal to fit. The seal is rather tough material so you need some heavy duty cutters or some tree branch pruners.

After this you can stand back and check it out!

Although I am choosing to paint these black.

My apologies to the FC world my TII is just way too dirty. Damn texas dust!

yes but you have big azz bolts sticking up there got to be a better way to mount the lexan and no i don't think 200 dollars seats would save in a crash i was hoping your seat belt would help you with that.

LOL oh well DIY'ers will do as they will. And big bolts? wtf they look big because of the rez. They are quite small after all.

PS your seatbelt keeps you in your seat your seat can fold up on your *** like tin foil. thats why seats have saftey ratings.

Firs of all to you they look better to me they look ghey and are worthless.

Second you fail to see economics in this. Simple concept: People have limited resources and unlimited wants. I want a clear/lightweight moon roof but don't have the time(resource) or patience(resource) to do it myself. I also didn't care about getting involved with the local shops at all as I dont' like to socialize with people around here unless they are my friends. I did have cash and Luis had the means to get me the roof. He needs money so he offers to sell the roof at a profit(gets him what HE needs). I get the roof(what I need). I install it Luis gets his profit and we are both happy. Two parties are satisfied by engaging in trade.

Now kiddies this isn't all nice and gramatically correct so STFU about my spelling and commas.

I don't have a want for that nor do I care. :-p You get my point and your being a smart ***. I wanted a finished product so I bought one. you want to go make one for 10 bucks hey thats cool. Maybe I spend more money but its the way people earn a living. Or don't you work?

EDIT: btw your off topic if you want to go discuss money management go to the difference of oppinion section.
