Not sure if anyone knew this:
When you experience high G's in an accident ur brain does 2 things:
1. continues to move in the direction and colliding against ur skull on the inside while the vacuum effect on the back side will boil the water on the surface of the brain. This will cause pitting (craters) on the surface of the brain.
2. Nerve bundles will twist in ur brain. ur spinal cord gets stretched.
people talk about the collision with objects, but forget what happens in their bodies.
I had a friend that died from a close head injury where his face looked fine, he had a helmet that never cracked and he brain swelled from colliding against his skull.

Speaking from experience - just say no to harnesses on the street.
About 18 months ago I rolled my FD and slid down an embankment on it's roof. I wasn't hurt in the accident but I thank god I wasn't wearing a harness. You can see from the attached pic that the roof collapsed to about where my head normally is (I'm 6'4"). I must a have slid sideways which saved me from having my head caved in......
