Dont Cut Cats!
A car that I got has no cats and the stock mufflers it sounds like total crap! like a giant friggin weed eater.
I dont have money for a full exhaust system - so does anyone have any ideas? would a presilencer help out ALOT?
What about the big tips that all the Hondas have will that change it possibly for the better?

heard somewhere that if you gut the pre cats, but not the main, it makes a deeper stock sounds thats only slightly louder. That would be cheaper than a full exhaust and temporary.

Ah, life is full of comprimises. Gutted cats make the exhaust note tinny and crappy sounding, but they also give you the most power for any single free mod that you can do. I say suck it up.
Or, I've heard a megaphone right before the tailpipe will give the exhaust a deeper sound.

I gutted my cats, and it does suck. But it is ok to deal w/ until you get your new exhaust in. I just installed my N1, and my RB header is in my garage. RB is shipping my presilencer Monday. Trust me, just suck it up, and wait for that beautiful new exhaust to show up on your door step. It will make it all the sweeter!

I will tell you that gutting the cat did give me power, but the powerband was choppy, i think my overall 1/4 was beter with a cat because car picks up much better after each shift. It doesnt make sense, but thats how it worked
