does my AAS even work?
Ive got a 90 GXL that has the adjustable suspension. Anyway I have only had the car for a week so I haven't had much driving time in it so maybe I haven't driven it enough to notice the suspension changes but I dont know. I press normal mode and sport mode and can't really notice much of a difference, and I am assuming that it probably doesnt even work anymore since the car is 11 years old and it has 130K on it.
So could any of you guys with the adjustable suspension tell me what you think. Its no big deal if it doesnt work because I will probably be replacing the springs/ shocks with some heavy duty stiff ones but I was just curious for the time being if it still works, if its fixable, if they are even worth it and so on.

well.....
In case you care, the easiest way to tell is to pull hte boot off the top of one ofhte shock towers watch what happens whe someone else flips the switch. Youshould be able to see the little servo thing turn the center shaft about 1/2 turn or so. At least that is what my '86 GXL does

Just cuz its old doesn't mean it doesn't work. It has more to do with if it has been kept up or not.
Drive down the road and zig zag it back and forth, while doing that press the button from normal to sport. You should feel a change. Most of the other changes (during braking, acelerating, high speed) you won't notice. They happen when they should and it won't draw attention to itself.
It is always possible someone may have already replaced the OEM struts with non adjustables.
I still got AAS and don't plan on removing it.

AAS is a nice feature, my shocks are getting old and replacing them is hella expensive, mazdatrix had them at like 170 each.
Test them like Thaniel said. drive the car hard in each mode to see if they work. If i remember my manual right the faster you go the stiffer they get, 60+mph

In my old 88 GXL, when it came time to replace the struts I replaced them with decent Monroe units. I don't think the AAS even worked anymore as I never noticed a difference between the two settings.
