Jiggling my key...
In the past few days I now have to jiggle my key in the doorlock to get the damn car unlocked. The little plastic weathershield is missing and it could have possible gotten jammed into the lock, but it's been missing since I bought the car back in June and I haven't had this problem until recently. Has anyone else had this problem? If the fix requires a new lock cylinder can I switch the handles from the passenger side so I don't have to deal with having a 2nd key?
Danke...!

Those little plastic pieces are notorious for breaking and fouling up a lock. But, they can be fixed.
You have to take out the lock and take the cover off the lock (takes a really thin piece of metal between the cover and the lock) then you take out the pieces and make a new one out of metal. Put it back together and voila..you have a lock that will now keep out the weather and never break again (in this area)
If you need pic's, email me and I will send you some.
Hope this helps!

Hey, I didn't even pay attention to your location...
I live about 2 1/2 hour east of you in a 2 light town called Oak Hill. It is about 45 miles southeast of Chillicothe. It's a funny thing, I never hardly see any 2nd gen's on the road around here, and there are only two in the vicinity. My NA and another one that is a TII. If you are ever across this way, look for a gold RX running around. I'll send ya those pic's although it might be a couple of days.
Nice talking to you.

that piece is also gone from my drivers' side lock. I have the opposite problem. I can stick anything in there that would fit and use it to turn the lock thingy CCW to unlock it
(sshh do NOT tell anyone).
One time I was walking along and passed by another FC, just for ***** and giggles I tried my key and I unlocked it , but it didn't work in the ignition switch
