Do you use Gtech to test your mods?

I'm going to have to a G tech because they are super cheap on Ebay right now. G techs aren't completely accurate for quarter mile times, but they seem useful for observing changes in performance due to weather, state of tune, and of course, mods.

I know this is kind of a lounge thread but hopefully we can have some G tech users chime in on how they may have helped verify the usefulness of certain mods that relate to our FCs, or Safc tuning.

So please post your experience with your using your G tech to optimize your FC!

Thanks guys.

I have one. It works well. I also bought one off of ebay. ~42 bucks with shipping. they usually sell for like 100+ on the site but these guys bought like thousands of them. Anyways I have been doing before and after tests with our CAI and it seems to register the differences in G's and Times from 0-60. I do not want to publish these results as they are probably not accurate and I am going to a REAL dyno in just two days so it won't matter as I will have more accurate and trustable numbers to show for it.

I have the newest Gtech, the pro series. Its fun, but I wonder about its drag times and what not...its more fun to see the G-force you can pull.

I just ordered mine. I know my car's weight +- 20 pounds, so it will be fun to see what it says my rwhp is. Watch it be like 120.

My friend just dynoed his last weekend and he has a 89 factory rebuilt engine will 70k and he layed down a tire burning 90 rwhp. Thats should give you guys some idea of how much power you actually have with high mileage on a old weak NA motor

There was either something awfully wrong with your friends car, or that dyno was not calibrated correctly. Ive seen completely stock S4 N/A dyno at 118rwhp, and a S5 N/A Dyno at 137. Both cars had close to 100k miles on them..

Well this is not a speed test but just to offer it up. On my OLD and STOCK suspension with new tires (RE 950's) I pulled .85 and .86 "G's" out on our LEC's (stadium) parking lot. I didn't get it to break loose so I don't think it was the car's max. I can't wait to test Jame's TII when he gets springs and swaybars.
