I think you are asking in the wrong section. FC guys would know more about an FC swap. I'm not aware of any "kit" that you can purchase to just make it work. I would imagine if there was, there would be more swaps around.

that looks like less then $100 in steel and a case of beer to your buddy with a welder. Would not pay $300 for that but I am one who can fabricate so to each his own

I wont use them at all,not a big fan of the desing. The correct way 2 mount the rew on a fc is 2 use the fc mounts and oil pan.

would be much easier if the engine was disassembled to tap the center iron but the FD center iron has no boss for the FC driver side mount.

That is truth........you can always weld a small plate on top of the fc mount and use the boss that is on top close by the oil filter pedistal like the RE aftermarket engine mount set does and weld another plate forward and use the botton stud on the front iron where the power steering crap used 2 be.No matter what you do some fab is needed on the driver side.
Mine is setup like RE.

well there is the other small boss located half way up the iron which could be used to make a base plate mounted to the iron with. i've contemplated it but never bothered with the REW swap, although it is an easier alternative if you have higher hopes.

i would also try to adapt the stock mounts to the REW block, the rear mounts are just all sort of wrong.

I dont like that all the aftermarket mounts look like....CRAP.You can tell that they dont belong there, they are bulky, ugly and a badly designed.I like my stuff 2 look good, almost like stock. You can look at my engine bay and my REW sits in there perfect on almost stock engine mounts, oil pan and front cover and i have no fitment issues or leaks at all.RE you should do a REW swap,is not at as bad as some people make it look.I did enjoy and learned a lot doing mine.

eh, swapping the engine means adapting other things to work. the only difference between the 2 engines once you modify them is in the intake manifold and intake porting. unless you're shooting for over 500 the older engines won't hold you back all that much. already started milling this S4 block anyways and it will have higher compression rotors than an REW has. the 16 12.7mm studs i think should solidify things a little..

i don't have any real goal for the new engine aside from making it a decent all around streetable car/setup. the low compression S4 turbo engine just aint cutting it anymore.

if the old engine had indestructable seals i would consider just running it until on the dyno until it blew up, but turbos aren't cheap..

REW / rear engine mounts are the best design, because the engine does not twist. Front cover engine mounts are the worst.
