sunroof delete?

I have a s4 t2, wondering if there are any good options to remove my sunroof motor and have something there to keep the seal? Mine motor isn't working, but I actually rather not have mine to keep it lighter. What are my options

buy an 86 that didn't come with a sunroof?
carbon fiber sunroof panel?

If you just remove the motor then the sunroof will stay shut,so that in effect is not really saving any weight or doing any good at all.

Contrary to popular belief not all Sec Gen Rx7's came with the Sunroof feature.
There was a hardtop (no sunroof version) coupe model.

I have a non-sunroof roof skin sitting in my garage waiting to go on my car

anything you try to fill that whole with is going to look bad after a while because the roof flexes a bit. some companies make carbon fiber plugs... but I can't say anything about their fitment.

How did you get a roof skin off another car? I've taken off the roof skin before, but I end up peeling it off at the end.

I'm just going to stick with the sunroof and probably fix it so I can use it at least.

Gut your sunroof, weld on mounts with tabs and bolt the sunroof shell down with the seal in place.

I had done that on a previous rx I had. It always leaked.

I never thought to do a vinyl wrap to the roof. That would seal it

If the sunroof electric motor is the problem, there is a manual override...use an Allen key. That is assuming the tracks and rails are not seized. And keep all the mounting pieces in place, including gutters to channel the water seepage.

If you are attempting to delete the sunroof to save weight, that is a different story.
