Do these tail lights exist?
Do these tail lights exist?
I currently have S4 tail lights on my car and want to convert to S5's. I've been looking on ebay because I checked out the price for S5's from the book at my shop, and it's way too expensive.
But the thing is, on ebay, there are so many different kinds of S5 tail lights. I even saw altezzas being sold for the FC. There are lights that say "not re amemiya" and then there are the kouki ones... I know I want the round S5's but... uh... it's hell confusing haha
Anyway, I just wanted to know the different S5 tail light models that are manafactured. My friend had a poster of an FC from the back and there were red circles and a bluish/purple haze coming from a small rectangle on the lights as well. Do those actually exist?

That haze is probably just a colored bulb placed in the backup lights instead of using white ones. I honestly don't know what the difference is between OEM S5 lights and those RE or Kouki ones though, sorry.
I have a set of the stock '89-'91 taillights that I will part with. The right one has a small chip on an edge but i used them that way so it isn't that bad. Not sure about that purplish haze but I do have the factory lights.
i know there is a difference in length between the Jspec OEM S5 taillights, and the Australian Delivered OEM S5 taillights....
the Jspec lights are "longer", and leave less room for a license plate...
wish i could explain better, sleep deprivation's left me a little dyslexic.

Any lights on eBay as probably going to be USDM, so just make sure they're coupe taillights, not 'vert.

No there aren't. The only differences between taillights is the length of the complete assembly, depending on country of sale (for license plate length) or whether they were for a convertible. All of the actual lights look exactly the same.

why not vert, with the whole assembly, they should fit, right?

The purplish haze-
I know the old school "blue dot" in a red lense gives off a puple aura at night- very cool. Looks like a purple halo or something...
Would a blue bulb have a similar effect in a red lense?
