sockets will swap out, but you cannot put s5 housings in a s4 bumper, or the other way around, different sizes

Don't they twist off? I mean if the bulb decided to blow how would you go about replacing it?

The bulbs twist out but I can't get the socket out. Also For the life of me I cant get the JDM lenses to come off :X

.... I'm thinking that if I can't figure this out I might just wire my FTP up as driving lights... and If thats a problem I will Put a separate bulb into the S5 housing strictly for driving lights... I was just hoping that somebody was where I am now with these lenses.

man I missed that one, I kept repeating it and he would not say anything, lol

just swap out the sockets, but if your current bumper is in good shape and the s5 is different paint I would leave the s4 on there unless you are going full s5 updates

He maintains he can't remove the sockets but he can remove the bulb which is a bit puzzling because I didn't know the lens housings separate into two pieces to provide access to the bulb w/o having to remove the socket itself.

Forget it guys... I know that the S4 blinkers don't fit the S5 bumper. I have a S4 and S5 bumper. My question was never will they fit, but "Can the S5 Blinkers be wired up to the S4 harness", But since my S5 blinkers seem to have a different connector than the USDM, and none of you have ever had this problem I will figure this out on my own. Thanks for the help.

power up the jdm lights and see what lights what, snip your s5 plug and splice it in leaving out the 3rd wire, but you really cant just see what the 3rd wire goes to?
Is the socket attached to the back housing of the jdm light?

(S4) Well I imagine that they are both positives, one for each filament of the bulb.
and since the S5 uses a single filament bulb, it only has one positive wire.

USDM S4 and S5 are alike in that Green/Black wire (left front) is for turn signals and hazards, Red/Black is for parking lights and of course Black is for the ground. How that differs from JDM who knows. Either they use the same wire for hazards, turn signals, driving lights or they only have two of the three possible functions.

Problem Solved... Bought clip in 194 bulbs and wired them up as driving lights and Kept the 1156 bulb as a blinker... worked perfectly, and only took like 15mins a light to do.

Hey,I'm planning to swap my s4 bumper to a s5 bumper. I bought the jspec ftp lights from corksport. Can u give me directions(step by step) on bolting up the bumper and wiring the lights? Do I need to have the s5 reinforce? Do I need the s5 light harness? What about the trim matching up?
