doing an s4 wiring swap in a s5 is a bitch! i know..... i did it! i bought a 88 t2....and swapped EVERYTHING (every wire, risistor, fuse panal...motor, drivetrain) the 88 was a shell when i was done (minus the interior..mines black, so i kept it) it took me a week to rewire the whole car......

hey el nene7...... another thing we have in common...... 91 coupe body w/ a full s4 t2 conversion lol...... similarities keep piling up! oh, i bought the roll bar from port racing

i know exactly what happened. your car is an s4 and someone bought a wrecked s5 turbo car and pretty much convereted it appearance wise and put the vins on there. I DID THIS TO A CAR recently. bought a junked s5 T2 and put all the parts and vin on my s4 n/a. hehe... if me... a southern country boy that live in the boonies of georgia in a tiny *** town did this... think off all the other people in big cities and such that have done that. these rx7's get messed with alot over the years and through the owners

Have you ever heard of a chop shop? Its not all that hard to swich all the vin numbers (all the normal vin numbers) between 2 cars.

Its only a few days work, I knew a guy from High School that's did it a few times through never to an RX7. I saw a car where he swapped the dash, the doors, and cut and blended the stamped vin numbers out of the firewall and a few other places, and also swaped the windshield and windows between the two cars as they all had #s. They would then repaint the car and make everything look so good you could never tell.

The way the scam worked, is he would buy a car that was totaled, but had a clean title, and steal a car with the same body style do the swap work down in Mexico, and then sell the stolen vehicle as the wrecked car he bought for a huge proffit.

This is actually something that happens quite often.

That particular scumbag is now in prison.

It's possible you have a S5 shortblock... I got a S5 TII block, turbo, and manifolds, with S4 TB, TPS, AFM, boost sensor, etc in my S4 Base...

Check the knock sensor... If it's on the rotor housing above the trailing coil it's a S5... If it's on the intermediate housing it's a S4 block...
