do i need a rebuild? oil smells like gas
so i have been driving my car and i noticed that the oil isnt going down and that it should use about a quart ever 2-3000 miles depending on how you drive and so i go to recheck my oil today and i noticed it smells alittle like gas what is this from and what should i do?

a little isnt bad. Since oil and gas are mixing in the rotor housing, you should expect a little gas to show up in the oil at some time. If your oil starts getting real thin, and smells like gas, it usually means the seals are going out on the rotors.

or would it be cheaper just to do a jspec motor swap now and buy the conversion so i can use my rear diff still

Everyone's oil smells like gas. Its a rotary thing, espcially if its a turbo. Don't go buying rebuild kits solely becuase of it, unless the car is "gaining" oil due to the gas getting in it. I'm gonna get flamed for this but I know there are also alot of members who will back me up.
