Do i need a new starter?
So this morning i went to go start my car.... and all i got was a "click" noise...
would his mean that my starter is shot or could it be my ignition?
I also recall having this click noise before but i would simply retry starting it a few times and it would start....
Well if you have a clue what wrong... fire away!

Step one... check battery voltage.. if low then charge battery... if it doesn't accept a charge then buy new battery ... ***side note***if the battery has low voltage, test alternator... you may have a bad alternator
step two... check battery cable connections; first at the battery then at either the chassis ground or starter solenoid *edit* you are looking for corrosion, loose connections and/or frayed/burnt/discolored wires
step three... have the starter tested... at this point you may need to replace your starter

If this clicking problem keeps happenig several weeks from now, and you KNOW the battery and batt cables are good enough to bet ten bucks on them being good, then I suggest you do this to PROVE the ignigion switch is good/BAD.
Get a piece of electrical wire about two feet long and strip both ends.
Pull your trail coil assy up and out of the way. Under it you will find a BLUE jumper plug. It will have a single jumper wire in it. PUll it off its mating connector.
PUt one end of your piece of wire in the electrical mating plug where there is a Large black/white wire.
Now with the car out of gear, put the other end of that piece of wire on the Positive post of the battery. The starter will turn over. The engine will start IF the key is to ON. Not requires for the key to be to ON if you just want to see if the starter will spin.
Now do this numerous times. IF each and every time the starter turns over, then the ignition switch contact are not capable of carrying the currenet from the switch to the starter solenoid.
So replace the starter switch or live with the click.click, click like I did until recently. Recently I installed a RS relay into the circuit to be triggered by that black/white wire mentioned before and a new power wire for the starter solenoid that come from a new inline fuse from the engine fuse box. No problems since. No click, clickity click.

Think BLUE JUMPER PLUG and what I wrote in an above post about jumpering 12v to the black/white wire. There's no reason to let this problem go further than the next hour or so. Jumper the plug and find out NOW, not procrastinate for the next week or so.
