Are you sure its not the clutch? This happened to me. I could rev the crap out of it, but very little power actually made to the wheels. I had to park in an underground parkade with a ramp. Couldn't get it out unless I did 3 laps around the parkade to build up enough speed and momentum to launch it up the ramp.

you have to get under it some how and see if the power is making it out of the transmission.

You can figure out if it is the diff by draining the fluid. If the fluid id filled with metal flakes and chunks of gear and bearing then it's blown up... If not then it is probably the clutch.

Usually a diff will just start howling and growling at speed when it starts to wear out . For a diff to just fail it had to have been abused

Uh, I disagree. If it was just a mount the power would still make it to the wheels, just be noisy when power was generated/degenerated. IE lifting off throttle or going WOT.

Try draining the fluid like someone else said, if it's filled with metal and ****, your diff is blown the **** up. Also check your halfshafts. Get under the car, try to rotate them by hand, if either of them move, the cv joints/ bearings and **** are probably blown up. Happened to me when I put LSD in my 7.

Check the obvious, though. Power goes from motor to tranny, to driveshaft, to rear end, to half shafts. Check all that out.

Good luck.

James
