are your differential temps exceeding 200F that you have to worry about it??

car is going to be a race purpose car, mainly drifting and some autocross/time attack. didnt know how well the differential could withstand under constant pressure.

again, are you running above 200-210F in the differential.

just adding weight and complexity because you may need it and don't really know is a waste of money and time and against what true racers do.

A differential cooler is a good idea on an endurance race car.

In a drift car I would think of it as an added liability as it could be damaged on one of the frequent off track forrays or when running over your own car's body parts.

In Time Attack you can run cool down laps between your single timed laps and in Auto-x they won't even let you run back to back runs.

I think most FC racers would put in an aftermarket LSD like KAAZ for its aggressive lock up and strength and only add a cooler if your clutch plates are wearing out too fast.

I think a better mod if you were really concerned about your diff wold be to install a temp gauge first.

That way you can gauge exactly what its doing during a race - if your temps are huge - maybe think about a cooler, but more than likely you'll find a surprisnigly consistent temp and decide just to monitor it closely.

drifiting is easier on the differential than grip driving

autocrossing is usually a 2 minute or less run, hardly enough to even warm the diff

even tow trucks do not need a diff oil cooler, the closest i have seen is a finned aluminum differential cover which our cars already have.

do you see diff oil coolers on 18 wheelers? if they don't need it why do you think you do?

if I was going to go to the effort of putting a cooln anything that didn't come with one on these cars I would do the tranny.....just some food for thought....even though its probably really not necessary - I think it would be beneficial on track days.
